Single Crystal Diamond Core

Single crystal diamond wire drawing cores possess remarkable properties such as exceptional hardness and commendable resistance to wear. These cores are primarily used in producing wire with superior surface finish. However, due to the anisotropic nature of the crystal structure, the hardness of single crystal diamond wire drawing cores varies in different directions. Consequently, the wear on the die hole is uneven, resulting in non-uniform and non-round wire products. Moreover, single crystal diamond is a scarce resource and quite expensive, hence it is predominantly employed for fine wire drawing dies or for producing wire with stringent surface quality requirements. There are two types of single crystal diamond wire drawing cores available: natural diamond wire drawing cores and artificial single crystal diamond wire drawing cores. The latter is mainly imported, with notable manufacturers including Element Six, Sumitomo from Japan, and Langfang Sipor Company.
